The Internet, Observed

life.ru shifted its DNS provider from reg.ru to nic.ru. The move is notable for the domain itself: a large Russian media property pulling its authoritative DNS from a commercial registrar to the state-adjacent nic.ru changes who answers for the zone at its most fundamental layer. A careful reader notes this as a structural relocation of control over the domain's resolution path, from one domestic provider to another with a different institutional posture. The rest of the window's observations are about reachability and redirection, but this one is about authority.

Two other domains changed their DNS providers. cheaptickets.nl moved from Cloudflare to Akamai (akam.net), swapping one global CDN and DNS operator for another.

On the email side, contentpass.net simplified its mail handling. The domain dropped googlemail.com as a secondary MX provider, leaving only google.com. One CNAME change registered: dootchi.ai pointed a record to an Alibaba Cloud GSLB host (aliuseastb-people-ind31-gslb-igr.baifentan.com).

The window saw several sites return to reachable status. gov.hk, wowma.jp, runative-syndicate.com, and pokemonshowdown.com all came back, now returning 200. tuv.com and dsw.com also came back, returning 302 and 301 respectively.

Other domains shifted into redirect or access-restricted states. essex.ac.uk and v2ex.com both started returning 403. bundesfinanzministerium.de, feroot.com, and nextech.com all started returning 301.
